Lens gauge, is a specialised tool used to measure the rear protrusion of cine lenses to ensure compatibility with the film cameras. It verifies that the lens does not protrude too far, which could cause it to collide with the mirror inside the camera body. This gauge is particularly useful for checking any lens to ensure it clears the mirror on all 16mm and 35mm Arriflex cameras. Lens must be set to infinity focus!
